THE BICYCLE GANG - WINTER 2011

Perhaps no other invention has had as much impact on our lives as the bicycle. Originally call the "Hobbyhorse" when it was first invented over 300 years ago, today it is more common than the motor car with over 100 million being produced each year.

Despite this ubiquity, the bicycle remains as unique as the people who ride them, the embodiment of freedom, movement and the possibility of each and every journey. 

The bicycle has continually evolved and seen off many trends in it's lifetime, inspiring artists, literature, and even film with such treasures as B.I.K.E. And now this wonderful two wheeled transporter has inspired our MisteR Winter 2011 range, a collection of saddle friendly menswear with a focus on comfortable classic styling.

We've started with a colour palette inspired by classic road bike imagery, incorporating the solid base of Black, Navy and Dark Greens with highlighted colour features of red and yellow reflectors blue and green decal transfers. Complementing this palette, patterns and checks as classic as the bicycle itself are riding into range for this season. 

To ensure the fabrics are durable enough to survive chain catching and flexible enough to handle heavy peddle power, we have chosen solid denim and heavy weight cottons for our jeans and suiting. Cut as always is the focus, creating sleek silhouettes for those dashes around town.

Our shirt range has been improved for 2011, and we've chosen top quality Japanese and Italian Shirtings to create a superb finish with soft breathability while cycling. Now produced by the country's best shirt maker, the quality is top gear! Also after repeated requests we have introduced and XS shirt size for those pint sized pedal powerhouses!

In a MisteR first, we've introduced a range of New Zealand made pure Merino knitwear, offering a V-neck Sweater, Cardigan with elbow pads and other warm options for those long bike trips.As with all our pieces, numbers are limited so you won't want to be last to the starting line to secure your favourite looks.

MisteR are renowned for our blazers, and these make a strong return matching into waistcoats and jeans. This season includes two casual blazers that are reversible, in quality quilted cotton for warmth, doubling your options for mixing and matching.
